GRAVES COUNTY, KY (KFVS) - The City of Mayfield is looking for hole sponsors for the opening of their new golf course in late August/early September.
The course is a combined effort of the city and county governments. They are offering the hold sponsorships as a way to fund the maintenance and staffing for the new facility.
To sponsor a hole, businesses, groups or individuals can pay a $250 sponsorship fee. That fee would put a sign on the hole and would renewable after a 2-year period.
"I have to give a big thank-you to Mike Riley of Riley's RV World, who texted me over the weekend with his interest in the course, and the idea to sell the hole sponsorships," said Mayor Teresa Cantrell. "We're just putting it out there for businesses to consider this very affordable advertisement, and as a way of partnering with others in the community who want to provide family-type entertainment for our citizens."
Cantrell said after first posting the sponsorship offer on social media, within about 30 minutes, she had six sponsorships.
Anyone interested in sponsoring a hole at the miniature golf course can contact the mayor at tcantrell@cityofmayfield.org or by calling 270-251-6251.
