Five oddities from NBA Games, Dec. 6, 2012

Thanks for clicking through to our newest daily-slash-nightly feature, looking at last night?s games and picking out five oddities ? whether statistical or otherwise. We have a small sample to choose from, given here were only two games played Thursday night, but the oddities were there.

We?ll start with the Knicks? momentous 20-point road win over the Miami Heat.

1. Despite the Knicks and Heat being tied at 53 at halftime, Jason Kidd was a plus-10 for the half while Raymond Felton, the star of the game, was a minus-2. Kidd only played one minute and forty-four seconds more than Felton. For Miami, Dwyane Wade was a minus-33 for the game.

2. The Knicks went 8-for-12 from 3 point range in the 3rd quarter, led by Felton, who tied his career high with six 3-pointers in the game. New York attempted 44 3-point shots and 47 2-point shots. They made 18 of those 3s? one shy of the 19 they made against Miami on opening night.

3. The final score of the Knicks-Heat game was 112-92. This marks the 2nd time this season that the Knicks beat the Heat by 20, the first one being on opening night for New York when they won 104-84 at Madison Square Garden. Miami?s other losses have been by 18 (to Memphis), 7 (vs. the Clippers) and 4 (Washington).

4. Jermaine O?Neal picked up his 5th technical foul of the season in the Suns-Mavericks game, tying him for the league lead with Carmelo Anthony, DeMarcus Cousins, and Joakim Noah.?The game was played on ?money-back guarantee night,? when those who bought a ticket could get their money back if they didn?t have a good time. The Suns said it was the first promotion of its kind in the NBA.

5. In their 97-94 victory over the Phoenix Suns, Dallas? reserves outscored its starters 57-41. The Suns have now failed to score 100 points in 6 consecutive games and have lost five in a row.
